Mission Statement & Values

Temple Sholom is a Reform Jewish congregation that welcomes traditional and nontraditional families and individuals. Our congregation aspires to create a warm and caring atmosphere that fosters inclusiveness and community. We engage in life-long learning, worship, life-cycle events and social action (Tikun Olam). We cultivate a love and understanding of our Jewish heritage and promote the perpetuation of Judaism. We strive to be an inclusive and accessible synagogue, welcoming to all who wish to meaningfully participate in our Jewish community.

If we had to choose one word to describe our community, it would be 'hamische' (the Yiddish word for 'home-like').

We are a close-knit Reform Congregation coming together to pray, celebrate Jewish Holidays, educate our children and adults, take social action on local and national levels, and share our joys and sorrows. We welcome interfaith families, we are inclusive in our philosophy, and pride ourselves on our inter-generational interactions and programming.

We offer unique family programs such as our monthly Pray & Play Shabbat Services for families with toddlers. Our K-12 Religious School uses innovative programs including individualized Hebrew curriculum and family learning. Our Men's Club, Sisterhood, Sholom Again! and Women On Our Own groups welcome adults of all ages to learn, socialize and support one another.

We hope that you will join us and experience for yourself the warmth that is Temple Sholom.
