High Holy Days 5786 Information
Take us back, O LORD, to Yourself, and let us come back; Renew our days as of old!
– Lamentations 5:22
Dear Temple Sholom Family,
We are excitedly looking forward to the New Year! Our leadership and staff are already working hard to prepare meaningful and spiritual experiences for us to welcome 5786 together. As has been done in the past, we will hold services in person and via zoom. We look forward to seeing you whether you join us virtually or in person.
Below, you will find all the information needed to help you navigate our celebrations of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah. You will find many opportunities to help us create an engaging worship experience – with your presence, through volunteering as an usher, helping out with our onegs, and/or donating to one of our special High Holy Day Funds. Thank you again to those who have made our communal worship possible by donating our High Holy Day prayerbooks. This year we are adding a special prayerbook for Elul. There are dedications available for both books (see enclosed).
In the spirit of renewal and t’shuva, we are excited to come together as a sacred community. We hope our prayers and actions will bring about peace - for ourselves, for our community, and for the world.
We wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year. If there is anything we can do to help you prepare for the New Year, please let us know.
L’shanah tovah,
Rabbi Emily Losben-Ostrov and Cantor Darcie Naomi Sharlein
Ilene Schulman and Caren Dankin, Religious Practices Co-Chairs
