Endowment Fund
What is an endowment? Simply put, an endowment is a portfolio of assets donated to a non-profit institution (Temple Sholom) to aid in its support. Over the long term, endowments provide a financial cushion to support an institution through changing times; with this added stability comes a greater degree of independence and enhanced ability to achieve short- and long-term goals.
After more than a century following our founding in Plainfield, Temple Sholom’s Endowment Fund was formed in 2016 and is professionally managed through The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Mercer (JCFGM).
Interested in contributing? The good news is you can now contribute to Temple Sholom’s Endowment Fund. There is no minimum amount. Visit our donation page to donate to the Endowment Fund or to other Temple funds.
Considering a legacy gift? You can also designate a legacy gift to the Temple Sholom Endowment Fund through, for example, your will, beneficiary designation, or charitable remainder trust. To learn more about legacy gifts, please see the Endowment Fund brochure, with more information and a (non-binding) pledge form to express interest. You can also contact the Temple office at (908) 889-4900 or office@sholomnj.org.
In memory of Roger Schwartz, Marty and Judy Schwartz graciously donated $5,000 to Temple Sholom’s Endowment Fund following the receipt of the first 12 completed pledge cards of legacy gifts.
Thank you for your consideration of this lasting gift.
