Why join a Temple during a pandemic?

We can’t be together to worship and socialize, school is virtual. The building is closed. I just won’t have that same in person experience that makes me feel I belong, that I am a part of a community—something bigger than me!

Now, more than ever, people need people. People need faith, support and friendship. They need a sense of belonging. Temple Sholom is a smaller congregation that thrives on the relationships that have been formed.

Since we are a smaller congregation, it is easier to recognize who  recently joined us. We love to embrace new members and are anxious to make them feel at home. We continue to reach our community through several online opportunities throughout these difficult times, in hopes we can make the difficult a little brighter.

Whether you join us for a Zoom Shabbat service, special online event, a Rosh Chodesh gathering or class, you will feel the warmth as our members welcome you. We will make a point of introducing you. Members will begin to recognize you, and you them. Before you know it, friendships will be formed that will solidify when we can be together in person, once again.

Now is the time to act.

Temple Sholom is now offering our Mishpakha Program, a voluntary membership contribution model, furthering our commitment to be an inclusive Jewish community. The program is designed to ensure that all congregants are respected for and comfortable with their contributions to the Temple, which may include involvement in its religious school, or volunteering on one its committees and auxiliary groups.Temple Sholom’s doors are open to anyone who wants to join but may have felt uncomfortable with previous structured dues program.

To learn more about membership and Temple Sholom’s Mishpakha Program, please call the Temple at any time to have a one-on-one conversation. 908-889-4900.
