Madrichim at Religious School

From Religious School Director, Jennifer Levine:

The 2019-20 school year is up and running! I am excited to report that the teenagers volunteering in our school (we call them Madrichim) are really stepping up this year to take leadership roles. Under the supervision of one of our teachers, Erika Green, the students are preparing and presenting lessons this year. Our goal is to give them opportunities to experience first hand what teaching feels like - and use the knowledge they acquired via their own Jewish education to teach others. Our teachers report that our younger students respond very well when our teens step up in this way. Giving our younger students the opportunity to see first hand teens who are choosing to remain active and engaged in our religious school and synagogue life in general, is powerful modeling and inspiration.

As part of their responsibilities, they are assisting with congregational education day and will be in the forefront asking questions of our adult panel that day.
